Our Courses

Beginner’s Welding

Join our beginner’s welding course and learn a new practical skill! We offer an opportunity to learn the very basics of the 3 key welding processes we use: MMA, MIG and TIG, health and safety, key tools you will need to create a custom item that you'll be able to take home at the end of your sessions.

Courses run on selected dates throughout the year, allowing participants to have their first taste of welding. Whether you want to test the waters with no obligation to continue beyond your initial block, seek a fun activity to share with a friend, or might even be considering a career change, this course is the perfect starting point. Currently, we primarily offer sessions on Thursday afternoons but we may be able to offer a bespoke package on occasion. Check out our booking link for upcoming dates here.

Children’s Workshops

We offer creative children's workshops that introduce tools and techniques for creating small items. Perfect for holiday programmes and parties, these workshops are often hosted in community centres or churches and provide a fun and educational experience for youngsters in a supportive environment. Each session requires a minimum of 8 children and lasts for up to 4 hours, making it an ideal group activity. Get in touch with us for pricing and to schedule a memorable and engaging workshop for young makers!

Route-to-Employment

Based on our experience that no one size fits all, we believe a flexible approach is ideal for beginners. Our part-time placements allow trainees to learn basic skills in MMA, MIG, and TIG welding, best practices in Health and Safety, and an understanding of different metals and welding defects.

Our Route-to-Employment course includes assessments along the way to ensure you're making progress with your skills and knowledge. Trainees can discover if welding and fabrication could be a career path, improve skills for a specific project, or explore a new or forgotten hobby.

Once you’ve learned the basics and are comfortable in a workshop environment, we offer a range of opportunities and support. We can facilitate obtaining the BS4872 certification through an independent assessor, or work with you to determine the best approach to take the next step in your career. Our aim is to see people thrive using their skills for good, providing as much support as possible to enable trainees to take the next steps in work and life, with continued mentorship.
